Dysport works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals to specific facial muscles that cause wrinkles when you frown, squint, or raise your brows. Once those muscles relax, the skin above them smooths out, creating a more youthful appearance. Dysport tends to spread slightly more than Botox, which can be helpful for treating larger areas like the forehead. The treatment only takes a few minutes, and most patients start seeing results in 2–3 days, with effects lasting up to 3–4 months.
You may be a good candidate for Dysport if you’re starting to notice lines between your eyebrows (the “11s”), on your forehead, or around your eyes that stick around even when your face is at rest.
