DERMOSONIC® CELLULITE REDUCTION THERAPY
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is the dimpled appearance of the skin on and around the outer thighs, buttocks and other body areas where fatty deposits are found in close proximity to the skin. Women are more prone to cellulite formation than men and almost all women over the age of 20 have cellulite to some degree. Cellulite is not necessarily a symptom of being overweight and, in fact, many people who are NOT overweight have cellulite. The appearance of cellulite is not always reduced by weight loss.
What causes cellulite?
Cellulite occurs in the subcutaneous fat layer just beneath your skin. Your skin is connected to the underlying muscle by vertical strands of tissue. As we get older, more and more fat cells become trapped between these vertical strands of tissue due to poor circulation, poor diet, lack of exercise and insufficient water intake. Also, as we get older, these vertical strands of tissue lose elasticity and begin to shrink. The combination of this connective tissue pulling in on your skin and fatty deposits and fibrosis pushing out against your skin is what causes the dimpled appearance of cellulite.
I had 15 treatments of endermologie™ somewhere else with very little results. I just finished my second Dermosonic™ session and I can't believe that I am already seeing and feeling a difference!

What technology does The Laser Center use for Cellulite Reduction Therapy?
We use the FDA approved, Dermosonic™ method. This method has been used in Europe with excellent results since 1999. The distinctive difference between the Dermosonic™ method and other cellulite reduction methods such as Endermologie™, is the Dermosonic™ method's addition of FDA approved ultrasound technology which greatly increases the effectiveness of more conventional vibratory and suction techniques which are used to manipulate the connective tissue and fatty deposits. We could have chosen any cellulite reduction method available on the planet and we chose the Dermosonic™ method because, quite simply, in our tests, it produced better results with less treatments.
How does the Dermosonic™ method work?
The Dermosonic™ method is a two stage process. The first stage incorporates ultrasonic waves to penetrate beneath the skin creating fibrosis breakage, stimulating blood circulation and literally softening fat deposits. This important and distinctive first stage greatly enhances the second stage of the Dermosonic™ method which is the dispersion of these fat deposits, elongation of connective tissue and the promotion of lymphatic drainage using specialized vibratory and suction techniques. A typical two stage treatment lasts 60 minutes and many clients experience visible results after only one treatment. In addition, a very common side benefit of the Dermosonic™ method is inch loss and improved body contouring.
Is the Dermosonic™ method a cure for cellulite?
No. There is no cure for cellulite - not Dermosonic™ - not Endermologie™ - not even liposuction, which does not effect the subcutaneous fat layer where the cause of cellulite is. However, the Dermosonic™ method is the most effective treatment we have found at reducing the appearance of cellulite by effectively targeting the subcutaneous fat layer, causing fibrosis breakage, dispersing fat tissue, elongating connective tissue and promoting lymphatic drainage. The cellulite becomes much less visible since the both the tension of connective tissue and the pressure of accumulated fat deposits and fibrosis build-up around the cellulite are greatly reduced and therefore a smoother, firmer, more toned look is imparted to the skin.
Is there any pain associated with the Dermosonic™ method?
No. In fact, many of our clients favorably compare the treatment to a relaxing massage.
How many treatments are required?
As is the case with all cellulite reduction therapies, usually, several treatments are required, which is why we offer discounted, multiple treatment
packages. However, for some people with minor cellulite, satisfying results can be achieved after only a few treatments with the Dermosonic™ method. We offer complimentary consultations to advise you of the type of results you can expect.
